About The Artwork
It took me some time to fall in love with LA, it is one of those cities where you need some insider knowledge to be able to fully enjoy all it has to offer. I is such an expansive city there is no way you can see it all in one trip. Many people go there to be discovered but I think going there to discover, it is a way more satisfying experience. In my studio I like to listen to podcasts and a lot of them are made by people who live in LA and they don't seem to be very impressed by their city. I hope that one day they will see some of my LA pieces and realise how beautiful their city is and how much it has to offer. This mixed media painting on wood is created using a combination of image transfer and acrylic paints and mediums together with textured papers. The artwork comes with a wire on the back for hanging, it is signed on the front and has title, date, artist name and a signed certificate of authenticity from the artist on the back. Be advised that colors and brightness depend on your monitor and the digital picture may be slightly different from the original work of art.

Leaving the Netherlands was a breeze. Japan didn’t scare me, America didn’t intimidate and Canada is as easy-going as it gets. The thing that frightens me, is creating Art. For the longest time, I believed I was the master of my craft. I strode into my studio with confidence to create bodies of work like Traveling the World and World on Washi. In my bubble, I reigned supreme. Then, one day I realized that the spaces I thought I controlled were fortified by the perceived expectations of the people around me. Their silent influence spawned countless rules, suffocating the artist within. It dawned on me—I shouldn't be making the rules at all. I have been creating Art for a decade and a half, and right now my studio in Canada is the most terrifying and exhilarating place to be. Inside, the Art decides the destination, where it leads I will follow. An old man once told me: “It’s dangerous to go alone!” So, will you join me on this quest?
