Lemon Sculpture

Juxtaposing traditional approaches to painting and sculpture with unique materials, Robausch uses industrial synthetic wax, marble dust and oil paint as part of his working process, sculpturing shapes before painting in them. In the process of cooling down, the fluid artwork changes to a heavy and very solid structure with a fragile impression. Robausch describes his work as “At 260 degrees Celsius it is a diaphanous painting, after cooling down it is a diaphanous sculpture. And the powerful act of this morphogenesis is recorded in colour whirls, cracks, ridges, craters and bubbles.
