Maelstrom represents the impact of planetary change; perhaps the Earth,under the influence of a great force. I see man's effect on the planet as having catastrophic consequences if changes are not made regarding how we treat the world.The opposite elements of fire and water emphasises the struggle. This painting was created using sweeping circular movements of the brush and the addition of fluid dripping highlights for contrast.

Born 1965,Northampton, UK. I am currently painting and drawing from my studio in an old shoe factory in my home town of Northampton. 1988 - I graduated with a BA (hons) in Fashion and Textiles with Business . My work experience as a textile designer includes London-based fashion and furnishing studios and the contemporary interiors company; Designers Guild. During my training as a textile designer, I developed my own style of painting, printing and drawing. Paint has always been my medium of choice. Oils are particularly preferential, as they enable me to create areas of surface texture or depth by layering and adding mediums for flow.
