Indian Motorcycles commission Lee, to preserve with art, the relaunching of the brand in 2013. The first painting was presented to the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum in a formal presentation in 2014. It now hangs in the museum for all to see year round.

This painting, featuring the glossy Indian gas tank with the Blacklands reflecting in the back, was commissioned at the same time as the museum piece. It was to be a performance painting in the Indian corporate footprint at the 2014 Sturgis bike rally. Lee began this painting from a blank white canvas the first day of the Bike Rally and finished it on the final day of the exciting event. Literally thousands of Indian motorcycle visitors saw Lee working on this piece. Lee painted this outdoor with high winds and blowing dust. There is actual South Dakota dust flakes in the paint but you would have to have a microscope to see it!

This piece will one day find its way into a museum just like its’ sister painting in the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum. There will never be another painting with a history like this one again.
