About The Artwork

The amazing story has come down to the present day city, has lain under a thick layer of ash about two thousand years. Preserved not only the way of life signs: house, shopping, household utensils, frescoes on the walls, but also emotions, frozen on the faces of people in the time of the tragedy, seen us through plaster casts. From the modern ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum, seeing the amazing preservation of the frescoes did not immediately notice their beauty: at the forefront events that occurred many years ago. Here, beauty is only a supplement, a means to create a single whole image, combining the impossible - life and death. The city itself becomes an art, a philosophical statement. The image of the frozen time - this is the image of my fresco "Pompeii." Where people freeze and turn into statues, and sculptures come to life and look at us with inlaid eyes.
