About The Artwork

'Rhapsody' is part of The New Exterior Garden Sculpture Collection by Simon Burns-Cox. This contemporary abstract sculpture was created to illustrate the complexity of love and its beauty with the heart at the centre. The sculpture 'Rhapsody' was inspired by the beautiful metal work of Morocco and is handcrafted and highly polished by hand. It is made from Green Guatemalan Marble which shimmers under light. It has a White Italian Carrara Marble base. The sculpture looks lovely with under-lighting, beautiful near water or as a focal point for a garden or as an interior sculpture. The New Exterior Garden Sculpture Collection by Simon Burns-Cox was featured in the stylish magazine 'The World of Interiors' and 'The Great Outdoors' in the March and April 2018 issues. https://simonburnscox.co.uk/the-great-outdoors/

Simon Burns-Cox is a professional Sculptor and Letter Carver working in Stone and Marble and is based at The Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop in Edinburgh Scotland which is an International Centre for Sculptors. Simon Burns-Cox has been working in stone and marble for a long time. He particularly enjoys the discipline of lettering and has an admiration for Eric Gill's work, the acknowledged master of that craft. Simon loves working with marble because of its texture and the potential of its many veins and colours. Although many of his pieces are abstractions, they have their origins in natural forms. Simon wants people to handle them, to look closely, and to be reminded of hidden things in the world around them. Simon also teaches sculpture, stone, letter and relief carvving courses to groups and individuals at The Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop.
