About The Artwork

Taking inspiration from Schwitters and Rauschenberg – and in this work the American West – Micosch Holland splices together fragments from pre-digital magazines and newspapers, giving them a new hybridised post-Dada life. Hang on tight!

Born 1968 in Mönchengladbach. Live and work in Schondorf am Ammersee. Study at the Academie Beeldende Kunsten Maastricht. Mixed-media collage artist Micosch Holland reinvents fragmented images drawing on influences from Dadaism, Constructivism and 20th century Surrealism. Holland's bold assemblage art is a bi-product of an intricate process of appropriating fragments until the compositions create their very own statements. Recently awarded the Kids of Dada (KOD) Art Prize Micosch Holland’s work has been exhibited in group and solo shows. The Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlung, i.e the Bavarian State Art Collection, selected his works for their prestigious collection.
