About The Artwork
The sculpture is made from limestone that has a subtle but distinguished marble pattern beneath the polished surface. The style might be described as organic abstraction, given that it reminds of something organic, yet in an abstract fashion. The title is mostly a means of identifying the sculpture. From certain angles it has similarities to a swan, but this is not important for me. It could also be some sort of organic matter seen under a microscope. The shape reoccurs often in my work, a twisted spiral that is sometimes an image of sperm or bacteria or DNA, or is sometimes purely abstract.
