Transfiguración Drawing

This drawing was created in Paris in 2012 in a residence of creation in the space encours, next to cemetery Père-Lachaise at the same time as the first version of the Laboratory SLD of Salud Lopez (SDL): It uses recycled material from an architectural studio, in this case a large sheet of paper. Use pencil and ink, but also, cigar ash mixed with water and even hit a spider nest. The drawing is based on the photo of a portrait of a dancer Flamenco known with whom he had worked, where he represented a gesture with his arms. The idea was to make a transformation or transubstantiation through the drawing also made of small and tiny gestures, drawings and strokes as carved on paper. Letting other figures and forms appear in a free way. Also appear written the names of the women who formed The Thirteen Roses is the collective name that was given to a group of thirteen young people, half of them members of the Unified Socialist Youth, shot by the Franco regime in Madrid, on 5 August 1939, shortly after the end of the Spanish Civil War. As if the effect of the transformation could be generalized and do justice, give peace to what happened to these women and others who have also suffered and suffer.
