Olivier van Wijk ( 1971, Geleen, The Netherlands ) creates sculptures, mixed media and design. With a penchant for old craft and the combination with new techniques Olivier van Wijk provides a growing collection. His work has a sleek design language with a nod to the manual details. The work takes to the flora and fauna , the fantasy world and man as inspiration. His artwork tells us of transience and eternity . Contemporary superlatives dating back to long before our era. The dynamics in the work of Van Wijk follows its own rules and sequence . The tactile properties of the materials with which Olivier Van Wijk works are of great importance . My father Dick van Wijk graduated at the art academy in 1971.
